Zac Smith
24-year-old Zac Smith is a surfboard shaper and surfer from Swansea, East Coast Tasmania. Zac shares a deep connection with the ocean and finds connection through the surfboards themselves. He says that each board has its own story, feeling and unique look – no two surfboards will be the same, just like humans which he thinks is super cool! Zac started surfing as a young teenager and, through mentoring, found a new hobby and a new way of life.
Senator Peter Whish-Wilson, AKA, the Senator Surfer
Senator Peter Whish-Wilson fights in the Senate against excessive corporate power, tax avoidance, whaling and illegal fishing – Peter has always worked hard to protect what’s important and fight for the future. An economist by training and a lifelong surfer, Peter balances numbers with a deep and abiding passion for the ocean. Peter will facilitate our surfer’s stories of the sea, ‘Dancing with Waves’.
Erin Hortle
Erin Hortle is a surfer and Tasmanian-based author who has written about the intersection of gender and surf culture and what it means to be a woman and a surfer in contemporary Australia.
